TMD is a leading cause of chronic facial and jaw pain that can severely erode a patient’s quality of life and disrupt daily function.  Being able to effectively diagnose and treat TMD is an expected core competency of dental practice, yet it is widely recognized that many dentists lack the training and experience to feel confident managing TM disorders.

At the Art & Science of Dentistry we believe there is a predictable science to TMD, and that all dentists deserve to know “the secrets.”

Members learn from masterclass lectures, case studies, and explore opportunities for hands-on clinical training.  This program will improve diagnosis and help develop certainty in case selection, all while building confidence for providing effective patient care.

TMD results from a combination of dental, medial, and psychological factors.  It overlaps with many conditions that can independently mimic TMD symptoms, or combine with an actual jaw joint problem to make symptoms much worse.   Treating only one aspect of the condition usually leads to incomplete relief of symptoms. That’s why the Art & Science of Dentistry we take a multi-disciplinary approach to TMD.

Starting with a multi-disciplinary approach, members learn from top experts in dentistry, surgery, sleep medicine, chronic pain medicine, chiropractic medicine, radiology, and clinical psychology.  Each module of the program will examine TMD from a different clinical perspective.
